This is why humanity should not settle on mars.

We must stop worrying about life on mars and focus on making life on earth better 

 

Very often we hear about developments in space missions and new technology coming up in this regard. We become excited when news about space missions come to us, many of us also dream to be an astronaut and explore vast universe which our eyes cannot encompass at once. There are also developments in space tourism and mostly rich people would be the firsts to travel as a tourist to space. All this seems so fascinating and cool, but, on what cost? 

Our mother earth is already facing challenges which if not dealt with can erase the man from the face of earth. Not only pollution and climate change, there are many threats to the earth which include environmental, social , economical and political aspects of the world. There are a lot of tensions between countries and many conflicts remain there for decades. At various places there are acute food shortages and epidemics. Drinkable water is still an issue for many countries across the globe.  Environmental degradation is on its peak and much less efforts are being made to improve environmental conditions. The scene is like humans are not going to do anything before a calamity strikes them. Not forgetting to mention how climate change is being neglected so much so that some countries have termed it as a hoax to dodge other issues. But the results are clearly visible, wildfires, droughts, floods and what not....!

 

 

 

What humans planned was to turn the mars into a habitable earth, but in actual the earth is being turned into an inhabitable mars.

It is a well known fact that most of the riches of the world are owned by only a small portion of the people. With time rich are getting more rich and poor are becoming more poor. What humans are after are their own desires and a luxurious life with much delicacy, only to end up six feet under the soil. If only these people instead of spending money on luxuries invested in projects which could save the planet, we would have seen prosperity and peace in the world. Though a few people do spend in this cause and we must appreciate their effort but what the point of understanding is that resources must be used in a way so that its efficiency and sufficiency is maximum so that it will lead to sustainable development.

 

 

 

There are many projects which can help in reducing the environmental burdens and help in maintaining a sustainable development. In my opinion projects aimed to utilize renewable resources should be promoted, like solar technology,
windmills, sea water tapping, water treatment plants, hybrid agriculture etc. are the best to invest in as they are both resourceful and environment friendly. These are the kind of projects we need to promote and invest and help in their research and development. This is better and easier than building cities and cvilizations on mars, which will only put more pressure on the resources o the earth and add to human suffering.
