Let's dive in...
Start a successful YouTube channel in 5 easy steps
Things that you should buy for your YouTube Channel:
Tripod stand
It is important to shoot your videos like a professional. This is a fair practice that almost each YouTuber does, that is interacting with your audience. Thus you will need a camera holder or if you are recording from your phone then a smartphone holder. Here I have found the best and budget friendly Tripod stand that is durable and tall enough for your work. Do see the other sizes as per your need.
Mic
You will need to be clear in your voice so that your audience understands you better. A mic is a powerful tool that will help you to cancel out the background noises and making your more engaging for your audience. This one is for a smaller range but enough if you are shooting form a a distance of 1meter or more. Overall this is a must product to have and you should really consider using mic in your videos.
RGB decoration lights
Okay so this may be something heavy on budget but I recommend using some lighting in background so that your environment feels cozy and energetic. These ones are from nano leaf but if you have want some cheaper ones consider ones shown below. Not just RGB lighting but any decoration will work. You may have seen many YouTuber using similar things in their videos so that it helps them to hook the audience.
Headphones
This one's for gamers. If you have a gaming channel then be sure you use headphones while playing games. This helps in two ways, audience will feel that professionalism in your gaming and also will it help you to play games better. You will also find other uses in them too.
Smartphone Holder
You might have seen videos of vloggers shooting over the ride and using high tech gears like gimbel and GoPro cameras. You can also do the same ride and record your videos with this very cheap smartphone holder. This can be mounted on bike or bicycle and you are ready to make videos about your adventures and riding journeys without wasting money on those high end action cameras.
Chair
Be comfortable while taking to your audience. Be seated and make your videos look professional. A chair or sofa is something that most YouTubers use in their videos. I mean when was the last time you saw a YouTuber speaking to his audience while sitting on the floor. This is why you should get a chair so you will be comfortable and also your videos look more professional.
Table
Now add more professionalism. A table is of a great use not only will it help you in doing your tasks like editing, researching and other stuff. But also will this give a sense on seriousness to the audience that this person has put an effort to bring something useful to us and hence making them to listen to you and increasing your engagements.
DSLR camera
If you are serious about your YouTube the its better to use a DSLR camera for recording high quality videos. More the quality of your Videos more will people like to see. Quality is also a way to tell YouTube that yes I am serious about my videos sending your videos to suggestions.
Green Screen
Green screens are an important element of a YouTubers videos. This lets you add some amazing effects to your videos by replacing the green colored background with whatever you like. You should try buying a larger green screen enough for your purpose. A Green screen will help you in reducing your time in editing the videos too.
Camera Lights
Lights add focus to your videos. Lights should be placed at appropriate places so that the viewers get to see the focused elements better. These elements can be the speaker, or any product that you are reviewing or any other thing that you want your audience to focus upon. Lights are a powerful tool in engaging your audience to watch more of your videos.
Okay so I guess this is pretty much all that you will need and I have tried to make this as budget friendly as possible. If you are able to find a cheaper model of any of the products do let me know n the comments.
So what else do you need to become successful as a Youtuber. Or in other words How to become successful at Youtube?
Select Your niche
It is important to stay focused on one type of videos only. This is called selecting your niche. You need to plan what your videos are about this in particular will help the YouTube to understand what your channel is about so that it could recommend it to the right audience thus making your work easier . You must not stray from your topics and always try making better content from your competitors in your industry.
There are lot of people saying that you must the following and following things in mind before selecting a niche but I say that selecting your niche is quite simple. Just select a subtopic in the field you are interested in and that you are passionate about that's all. This way you would love to create videos even if your videos do not perform well for a few time. You will see the algorithms themselves promoting your works after a while but what you need to be focused on is to increasing your audience engagements.
Branding your YouTube Channel
It is important that you include a profile picture and a banner for your YouTube channel. But that's not all, branding must include making social media pages/groups of your channel and providing ways for your audience to connect and interact with you. I do not advice to promote your videos on social media for first few months until YouTube Algorithms build an audience themselves for you. Later you can share links on those pages and groups too.
While talking about branding I do not mean that you should spend money on graphics designers to make logos and banners for you but make a simple ones by yourself. But your logo and banner should be specific, explaining what you do or calling the viewers to watch your videos or subscribe to your channel. Also do not forget to include the 'about' section of your YouTube channel and also set your target keywords in the settings. Complete other settings too.
Increasing your Audience Engagements
Let me try you a harsh truth, YouTube does not care what content you are making, it does not see if your videos cover important topics or some quality info, all the YouTube wants is that people should get engaged to your videos and spend most of their time on that platform.
Thus the most important thing you must do in order to get the YouTube send your videos to recommendations is by increasing audience engagement on your videos.
But how on Earth can I do that?
The answer is simple make your videos in such a way that your audience does not skip any part of it and stay till last second. This can be done by either directly asking them to watch till end or by appealing to their curiosity i.e. providing some exciting information for them about the upcoming topic. For example you can say like "I will be sharing with you my secret tip in a while in this video so stay tuned." This way they would listen to all parts of the video so that they do not miss your secret tip.
Try not to share your videos on social media for first few months or even with your friends most of the time they will be not interested in your videos, thus you may see a click and view form their side but the real thing is that they will result in poor engagement thus rather than helping, actually poisoning your channel.
Another thing that you can do is to cut short the length of your videos. If your analytics show that 50% of the audience are still watching your video at 2 minutes time and your video being 5 mins long try making your other video for just those 2 mins so that your retention percentage increases.
At last ask your audience to 'Like the video' and ask them how they feel after watching in the video by writing their opinions/feedback/reviews in comment section.
Return viewers and Increase Subscribers
This is an important part in your YouTube journey that you should gather more subscribers and also return viewers to your channel.
Honestly speaking, there is no way you can drag somebody into subscribing to your channel or comeback to watch your videos. It is their choice if they subscribe to your channel or not. The most you can do is try to ask them for subscribing in most appropriate ways. But you need to ask them to subscribe! This is what is needed. Try learning from MRWHOSETHEBOSS, how he asks his viewers to subscribe.
Once you gain a mass following on social media and also you gain as many subscribers, the audience will automatically come back to see your videos and what's new on your channel.
That's pretty much all...Wish you a happy YouTube journey do tell me in the comments if this post was helpful.
